Qingdoo, Shandong Province of China was invaded by an algae called enteromopha prolifera and covered the entire coastal water. Although it is not poisonous and doesn’t affect water quality, but local people concerns its effects on sea life and the tourism industry on that area.
Researchers are not entirely sure what the cause of these green invasions, according to CNN. But one the expert told the network that the cause of this algae plume may be having something to do with the climate change.

In this photo, the algae are now covering as much as 200 square miles of the Yellow Sea! It looks so thick that the boy on the picture can’t swim.
